Repent is a short film created in the science fiction genre. The work explores the impact technology may have on existence in a future context. Repent builds from the language of blockbuster science fiction and contemporary moving image work.
The protagonist, a cyborg, inhabits a hazardous world set amongst fields of darkness; this landscape is changing and unpredictable. Their momentum of routine, shifts with the fatal malfunction of technology. The work uses the age of live text based communication as a vessel for dystopian commentary. Pushing human interaction through software, the line between the mechanised and organic begins to blur.
After recognising that the system is failing, comms are soon lost. Closure is not found.
